The Cinque Terre, ancient seaside villages that overlook the
sheer above the sea in one of the most beautiful natural Mediterranean areas of
Italy. The five villages of the Cinque Terre are connected by a dense
network of paths, accessible both by train and by sea.Riomaggiore - Manarola - Corniglia - Vernazza - Monterosso.
It is perhaps the most famous village in the entire Gulf, a UNESCO site and a destination of
unquestionable charm. The village is perched on a striking promontory
that stretches toward the sea, populated with narrow streets and steep stairways that
shuttle between the ancient and picturesque houses of the historic center, Portovenere's artistic heart along with the many small squares that populate
the town. Worth visiting in Portovenere is the church of San Pietro, overlooking the sea. According to legend, it is thought to have been the birthplace of the goddess Venus.
Opposite Portovenere is another of the main attractions
of the inlet in the province of La Spezia: Palmaria Island, famous for its wilderness and caves.
The name Gulf of Poets derives from the fact that in this wonderful strip of land stayed the very famous Byron and Shelley, all of whom were eager to be
inspired for their works by the peace and beauty of this place.
The Gulf of Poets begins at Portovenere and ends at Lerici, two beautiful locations, while the heart of the Gulf is La Spezia.

The village of Lerici has very ancient origins in that already in Etruscan and Roman times it was chosen as a port because of its strategic location in the Gulf of Poets. Among its main attractions, in addition to the
castle (from which a path leads to its counterpart in San
Terenzo) there are the colorful houses that populate the historic center, dominated by the famous Tower of San Rocco, dating from Roman times.
Numerous trekking routes depart from Lerici for hiking enthusiasts.
Among the most beautiful is the one that leads to Monte Caprione.
Sarzana is located in the lower Magra valley, where the
State Highway 63 of the Cisa meets the Via Aurelia. The city is situated
in the heart of Lunigiana, a direct descendant of the ancient Roman city
of Luni, which it replaced in terms of religious importance at the beginning of the
13th century.
Sarzana has ancient origins, recorded as early as the first millennium, and a
fascinating history, dominated by multiple lords and cities , Castruccio
Castracani, Spinetta Malaspina, the Pisans, the Visconti, the Genoese and the
Florentines and where Dante stayed . The city retains as many as two castles,
the Firmafede fortress, of Pisan origin, and the Sarzanello fortress,
an ancient bishop's residence.
A 440-km route that crosses Liguria from east to west, between the unspoiled inland landscapes and the sea on the horizon. The Alta Via dei Monti Liguri - Ligurian Mountains High Way is ideal for those who love walking in nature in peace and quiet, from experienced hikers to those who want to try even just one of the 43 stages of this fantastic itinerary, perhaps

Buonviaggio has always been synonymous with good luck, indeed with the ascertainment of having escaped danger.
In fact, it was accessed anciently from the district of Marcantone, now incorporated into the center of Migliarina, the meaning speaks for itself: mal cantone, that is, a place infested with brigands. So having reached the high ground of Buonviaggio meant in the times to be able to count by now on an easy and safe journey to the Lunigiana hinterland and Parma, the destination of trade between salt, oil olive oil and fish (local products) and the flours and cured meats of the interior.
From the pleasant hill of Buonviaggio, one casts a last glance at the enchanting Gulf of the Poets (Byron & Shelley, but also Lawrence, George Sand and other names in literature and art Italian and European have contributed by their appreciation and stay to this designation first pronounced by Sem Benelli in 1910) and already the Alps are in sight, the famous Apuan Alps from which marble is drawn for the boast of the works of great sculptors and whichthe whole world envies us.
From the terrace of our facility you can admire precisely one last glance at the sea of the gulf with its commercial, tourist and military port and venturing your gaze to the white splendor of the Apuan marble, foretasting the journey among the ancient castles of Lunigiana. Still however, useful and easy base , for its distance of just 2.23 km from Migliarina Station (with its free parking in the
forecourt that the Central Station lacks) to which one couldarrive on foot with a walk, to really enjoy the Cinque Terre.
The coast of the Cinque Terre National Park can be visited almost exclusively by train given the difficulty of the road system and of parking lots, and being 2 km from the station is ideal for visiting it. Numerous itineraries depart from our facility that lead to the thousands of wonders of our area: on foot and a few kilometers the village medieval town of Vezzano Ligure and that of Valeriano, a scenic route overlooking the town and its gulf: farther afield the villages of the valley with their
history, the city center with museums, the naval one with the first radio built in the world, here in our gulf by Marconi or that of the red tent, the CaMec, museum of modern art or the Lia Museum, in Lerici the dinosaur museum, the beaches, the castles practically everywhere in Lunigiana, the Roman Museum in Luni with its amphitheater and excavations...
We would be happy to talk together about possible destinations if you you wish to be inspired.
